The Police Community Relations Committee (PCRC) Benue State Command, yesterday, 26th December, 2025 conferred on All Progressives Congress Senatorial Hopeful for Benue North West Senatorial District in the forthcoming elections in 2027, Hon Chief Dave Padopads Awunah their Patron.
Speaking during the installation, the PCRC State Chairman, Comr. Francis Ihyongu JP said that the Patronship conferred on Hon Dave Awunah is anchored on his personal achievements, status, and commitment to community development, as well as his humility and politeness.
By this Appointment, the State Chairman submitted that, the new State Command PCRC Patron has just become one of the “Think-tanks” to the State Executives of PCRC, The Commissioner of Police, Benue State Command and the Assistant Inspector General of Police (AIG) overseeing the Zone 4 Police Command.
Making requests to the new State Command Patron, the State Chairman and his team charged Chief Awunah;
(1)- To build and equip the newly established Naka Police Area Command for effective and efficient policing.
(2)- To have a robust communication with the Benue State Police Command with a view to solving insecurity in and around the Naka axis.
(3)- To use his Wealth of experience and exposure and connect PCRC Benue State Command to the World through Capacity Buildings, Skills Acquisition and the likes.
(4)- To sponsor at least 15 of his Constituents and Staff to the “January 2026 PCRC Capacity Building”
(5)- To laias with well meaning Benue people and get Mobility for the State PCRC.
Receiving the honour, Hon Dave Awunah, who is also the Chief Scout Commissioner of Nigeria, appreciated the PCRC Chairman and the entire Benue State Command of the Committee for the honour, pledging to use the privilege as motivation and help in the continues pursuit of law and order for the society and sustainable peace for Benue Communities, which he identified as key priorities in every society.
Responding to PCRC requests, the new Patron promised to sponsor 10 Constituents to take part in the forthcoming National Capacity Building Workshop of PCRC in Abuja, the Federal Capital Territory.
He also promised to take care of the other requests according to it’s immediate needs accordingly.
Highlights of the occasion included signing of Declaration of Acceptance and Appointment Letters, as well as presentation of” Certificate of Engagement” to the new State Command Patron of PCRC, Benue State Command.
